How To Apply

The Payment Assistance for Gas and Electric Program (PAGE) provides annual payment assistance on your electric and gas for low to moderate income families. Applicants must provide a copy of the application with the following documents:

 

  • Application, filled and signed
  • Six months Payment History for each utility
  • Most Recent Utility Bill
  • Current New Jersey Driver’s License or Identification
  • Proof of Address (Lease or Mortgage)
    • IF NO LEASE, MUST COMPLETE LEASE VERIFICATION FORM – Click here
  • Social Security Cards (for all household members)
  • Proof of Income (for all household members)
    • NOT WORKING, MUST COMPLETE ZERO INCOME FORM – Click here
  • Income Tax Return for the previous year

Service Priority

The Payment Assistance for Gas & Electric Program (P.A.G.E.) is a State-Funded Assistance program for qualifying households who can apply for heating and energy crisis assistance.
Administered by the Affordable Housing Alliance partnered with PACO, qualifying households who are experiencing economic hardship may receive an annual benefit of up to $1500 for electric and gas utilities. The program is benefits are funded by the Board of Public Utilities (BPU). For more information on the Affordable Housing Alliance please visit: www.njpoweron.org.

Elegibility Criteria

  1. Annual income per applicant household size must fall within the income guidelines.
  2. Minimum $100 account balance.
  3. Utility account must be currently 45 days or more past due, have received a disconnection notice and/or service has already been disconnected.
  4. Demonstrate that two payments of at least $25 each have been made within the past 6 months on the gas or electric account or one payment of $75 or greater within the past 90 days. ($150 if combined gas and electric account)
  5. Must not currently be applying for, receiving or have received any benefit through the LIHEAP program within the current heating season. If receiving a USF benefit, must wait until the (following) month after receiving the last USF benefit to be eligible for PAGE.
  6. Applications CANNOT be processed until all requested documents are submitted.
