Free, 3-Day Law Enforcement Entry Level Prep Course to Help Grow Local Law Enforcement
PACO announces a major initiative to help grow the local police force. The organization is bringing back its successful no-cost Law Enforcement Entry Level Prep Course, to best prepare those interested in a career in law enforcement.
The program is the vision of retired Jersey City Police officer and PACO Board Chairman, Frank Molina, who saw the need to create more opportunity and diversity in the department. “Jersey City is the most diverse city in the country, and we are proud of the work we have done to help the departments reflect it.” said Molina. “For 49 years, PACO has worked to help individuals achieve their desired goals, this program continues that tradition. The door is open for everyone to start their law enforcement career with us” stated Molina.
To accomplish this, PACO designed a no-cost test preparation course for the New Jersey Civil Service Entry Level Law Enforcement exam. Similar for-profit programs cost participants an average of $600-$700 for a one-day course. The PACO Law Enforcement Exam Prep Course is offered over three days, in four-hour sessions, and is free to all who enroll with the program.
“Why not empower the men and women of our community with the proper tools to achieve success,” said PACO Executive Director, Julio Garcia, “We want our community to be involved in addressing issues from within and help create a partnership between community and law enforcement.”
The PACO Recruitment program launched in 1995, beginning with just 400 community participants taking part. Over the years, enrollment has grown, with more than 1,200 men and women participating in 2016 alone.
Today, the success of the Law Enforcement Recruitment Program has been evident with the increased enrollment and more importantly the rise of our participants serving in various law enforcement departments across Hudson County.
Anyone is welcome to take advantage of this no-cost prep course. For more information and to register, please visit www.pacoagency.org or call the PACO recruitment hotline at 201-963-9067.
